 Survivor has a new twist ... and this twist is FEAR, in the new reality-meets-horror series 13 Fear is Real on the CW. From the twisted minds behind CBS's Survivor and The Evil Dead films, comes the next level in reality television as 13 unfortunate individuals compete in an eight week fright-fest. Each week their courage will be tested as they face similar fears seen only in their nightmares ... or the big screen. And one-by-one, a victim will be taken until the last person screaming ... err um, standing ... walks away with the $66,666 jackpot.Now, while the SciFi Channel's Estate of Panic was ok, it wasn't particularly scary ... even for a game show. And rather than a new set of folks each week, scrambling around for cash in booby-trapped rooms, it appears that the CW's 13 Fear is Real is combining real horrifying scenarios with the more traditional weekly elimination reality show format. Which should give audiences an opportunity to love or hate one or more of the cast ... at least, in theory. And with the show's exec producers: Jay Bienstock, Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert ... this could be quite entertaining to see what horrors they will throw at these poor forsaken souls. 13 Fear is Real premieres this Wednesday, January 7th, 2009.
