The dead are dancing in the streets ... well, not exactly. Bentley Little's tale of the living dead, The Walking, doesn't have the dead dancing, but rather - walking. Actually, they usually start walking before they die, but it gets really creepy when they continue walking after these frail, senior citizens pass away. It gets even spookier when they are really trying to get to a particular destination.

Just when I think I have seen em all, along comes a gem I missed. While surfing around the satellite channels late one night last week, I came across a horror film called, The Burning. Made in 1981, The Burning begins with a summer camp prank gone awry by five male teens on some poor camp janitor asleep in his small cabin. The result is an accidental fire that creates the worst living burn case in history. Years of therapy later, the janitor is released upon the world ... and of course, he is only driven upon revenge of those responsible.

You might be asking yourself, who is Bentley Little? That was my question, too, while picking out my last set of new novels to read (join these book clubs, folks, if you are gonna read or buy a book anyway - doesn't it make more sense to get a nice set of FREE novels, while you're at it?). If you are a fan of Stephen King and Dean R. Koontz, then you are in for a treat. The Master of the Macabre (as dubbed by the king of horror himself, Stephen King), Bentley Little is a Bram Stoker award winner (The Revelation) and IMHO, brilliant writer of horror fiction, and author of The Summoning. This is the first book of his I have read, and am next tackling The Walking, due to my thorough enjoyment of this novel - a twist of a vampire tale.
